Hydrochloric Acid
Manufactured in Western Australia. Available in two grades. High purity grade (32%), manufactured from salt in an electrolysis process and industrial grade (28%), recovered from titanium dioxide production process.
Commonly used in gold mining for stripping gold & regeneration of activated carbon, pickling & metal cleaning and pH control & neutralisation, and water treatment applications.
Hydrochloric acid, is the traditional masonry or brick cleaning cleaning chemical used to dissolve the cement in the mortar residue & smears, calcium lime scale, efflorescence, bore stains & hard water stains.
The recommended maximum strength for light coloured clay bricks is 1:20 acid to water ratio. The recommended maximum strength for all other clay bricks is 1:10 acid to water ratio.
