Sulphuric acid, also known as Oil of Vitriol, is the acid of choice for many pH neutralisation applications. It is also used in petroleum refining as a catalyst in the alkylation process of the production of high-octane petrol. It serves as the electrolyte in lead-acid motor vehicle batteries.
It is available in 34%, 50%, 60% & 98% concentrations.
